  • Our trip to the Belgian seaside was unforgettable. Due to very specific personal circumstances, we didn’t go out much during our son’s first year. I felt like a prisoner that had just been released from her work-home-baby routine to an amazing world of opportunities. I will never forget that evening. We rented out bikes, put our son into a bike chair and rode into the sunset. Literally. The sun was going down and we were pedalling wildly on the wide beachfront, listening to the seagulls and the waves. The wind was slowly blowing and our bodies were drunk with the adrenaline of the workout. There were no thoughts, no worries, no plans: just the moment. Our little family together in a memory that will never go away.   • Last year in September I started my post-baby diet. I was 72kg and dying to get back to my old 65kg self. I cut off carbs, refined sugar, fried food and stopped eating after 6pm. . As hard as it was, I didn’t lose any weight in the first month. I had almost stopped believing but then it happened: I started losing 2kg/month at a steady rate. I am now 63kg and couldn’t be more happier. . I’m not back to my old self, and I don’t even want to be. My body still keeps the signs of my pregnancy and I love that about it. I love my body for giving me my son. It’s perfect just as it is, but the extra weight made me feel heavy and out of shape. I needed to be lighter in order to be able to keep up with a toddler and adjust to my newfound working mum status. . I’m not that strict anymore with my eating habits though. Sometimes I indulge in bread or pastries or fries or whatever. But if I am to choose a dessert that’s the least harmful for me, than that would be my beloved raw/ vegan cakes. They’re made only of fruit, nuts and healthy fats, which means no gluten, no lactose, no refined sugar. We’re so lucky to have them in Belgium, they’re nothing short of extraordinary and can compete with regular pastries anytime. Not to mention that they look lovely! Would you agree? .   • My breakfast for the day. After piggin’ out on that huge portion of fries yesterday, this morning I feel hangover. These are the first strawberries I found that actually smell and taste like they should. They’re Belgian-grown and I bought them at the farmers’ market. So fed up with “plastic” strawberries, I wish no one would buy any in the off-season and then the world would be rid of them.
